A Little
BIT ABOUT ME
When I graduated university, I had a very hard time adjusting to life without writing. I was so used to having at least one paper due a week, but found myself feeling empty when I no longer had anything I had to write about. Despite being terrified, I decided to start my own blog to share some of my favourite things with the world & hopefully empower some women to be their best selves in the process *Queue Stylish Cup of Tey*!
Firstly, there are two main things I’ve learned over the years that I’d like to share. I know, you’ve probably heard this before, but these are two things I’ve learned the hard way over & over again:
1) You cannot please everyone. It’s impossible and some people will simply refuse to support you regardless of the good you’re trying to put out in the world. The more important thing is to stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy - don’t worry about what others might say/think about it!
2) If it doesn’t terrify you, it’s too easy. I’ve spent my last 6 years in a comfort zone I had no intentions on breaking out of, despite my aspirations to do so. To be honest, it was just easier to keep my day to day life as simple as possible. What I didn’t realize was that I had been running from change. I was so scared of everything being different that I legitimately set all my dreams aside because it was the easier way out - this way, I wouldn’t be hurt by others judging/talking about me, and I certainly couldn’t fail if I didn’t try (fun fact: I’m extremely insecure despite what a lot of people may think. I’m forever joking with my fiancé, Marcus, that I’m the most ‘introverted extrovert you’ll ever meet’)!
I’m just here, a Canadian new-ish mom with a clothing obsession, and no idea what I’m doing when it comes to motherhood. Join me as I fumble my way through adulthood, shamelessly, and let’s empower each other while we do it! Welcome to my life - from my outfits, to favourite recipes, to Ulcerative Colitis struggles (a disease I refuse to let define me), to mom life & wedding planning, and pretty much anything that makes me smile in between - I'll be blogging about it all here!
Let’s be real - we’re all a mess in our own way, but it’s nice to know we’re not alone! Follow me as I share some tips & tricks that make my life a little less chaotic & hopefully bring a little light to your day!
Thank you for stopping by & please don't forget to subscribe!
